Ms. Starr’s expertise lies in relationship building utilizing communication tools, attention to detail and strategic business and marketing methodologies.
Having spent the bulk of her career for the National Railroad Passenger Corporation, Angie’s experience working with public officials, state governments, public and private agencies, corporations and all aspects of the media gives her an edge in consensus building and reputation management. As a principal and technical writer for the company, she published strategic marketing materials and proposals, articles for various trade publications, and was a contributing editor for the company newspaper. As event planner, video producer or non-profit campaign manager, Angie worked to build corporate image with a focus on socially responsible initiatives. Among her diverse experience, Starr is passionate about her work involving corporate social responsibility. Having brought the CSR platform to America’s passenger railroad, she was able to engage big business in the lives of everyday people; whether it was educating communities on rail safety, helping the grieving family of a company employee or facilitating wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Angie’s latest involvement was with First Solar, Inc., headquartered in Tempe, AZ., the international leader in solar PV technology, developing the company’s global Crisis Communication Plan, and their Community Relations Plan.
Angie holds two Bachelor of Science degrees in Marketing and Business Management, but is most proud of her two beautiful daughters. When she is not hanging out with friends and family, she is creating designs for her jewelry business – Angela Starr Designs www.angelastarrdesigns.com
